How to Have a Badass Day

Let’s face it. Some days just fucking suck. No matter how much we argue that bliss is a state of mind, there are forces that conspire against us on important days or mellow Sundays. Having a good day is taken for granted many times, so much that when bad times come around we don’t know how to deal. It’s often because when we are on top we forget how much work it takes to get there- and stay there.

One of my favorite power chicks Kelly Cutrone wrote in her book “If You Have To Cry, Go Outside” that “After all, you can’t truly be happy, if you’ve never known pain. You can’t know what it’s like to be filled unless you’ve been empty”. And maybe, the sucky days are not necessarily that tragic. It might be caused by a punched tire or a bad work meeting, but it’s often necessary to remember that those minor details don’t compare to the true misery life can throw.

Cherish the good days by making them even better. Show your badassness to the world with these tips:

1. DRINK COFFEE

Or drink of choice. Some people prefer tea or an energy shake.

2. PUT ON THE BEAUTY PRODUCT OF YOUR CHOICE

There are women who prefer perfume to feel like they’ve got their shit together. Whatever it is, apply or put it on.

3. POWER OUTFIT

Ironically enough, the way I feel most powerful and happy is when I am wearing black. Figure out what type of outfit you put on to feel good and rock it on this sucky day.

4. THE PERFECT PLAYLIST

5. AN INDULGENCE

Chocolate does the trick for me, but if you are allergic, maybe you should consider a doughnut or a stuffed crust pizza. Eat it up!
If it’s sucky today, it might get better tomorrow. Remember, we are all on the same boat!
